Daily Prompts is a service I plan to provide each day for writers and other journalers who are interested in working out their writing muscles. The idea behind an association journaling exer cise, like Daily Prompts, is that you don’t need to have your own journaling ideas beforehand for it to work. You will sign up for the feed (coming soon!) or just log in each morning. Daily Prompts should be posted by 9 a.m. EST.
Then you will write using the prompt I’ve provided for that day. I’ve done free journaling for as little as 60 seconds to as many as 10 minutes. If you’re going to time the endeavor, then choose a time and stick to it each day. If you don’t like the idea of choosing an amount of time, you can choose to write a certain number of words or until the flow stops.
Using Daily Prompts should give you a writing workout. Hopefully you even generate ideas you can use in your work! Using Daily Prompts is a way to sweep out the cobwebs and sometimes spill the not-so-good content before you’re writing for pay.
If you like Daily Prompts or have other uses for it, I’d love to know. Email me at brandi@journalingworld.com with your comments.
